We grow 12 different varieties on the farm.
Otto Quast -our earliest bloomer starts in April
English Varieties bloom in May
Phenomenal - usually blooms 2nd or 3rd week of June
When is harvest time?
The lavender is harvested throughout the season depending on the variety. We do our best to keep at least one row for our customers to pick and take beautiful photos with but because we use all the lavender we grow we must harvest it at a certain time for greatest optimization. Our last variety is harvested usually the final week of June or 1st week of July.
How long does it take lavender to dry after harvest?
Lavender is a beautiful flower on a delicate stem, consequently drying time does not take long. After the lavender is harvested and bundled, drying takes about 3 weeks. Please dry in a cool, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight for best optimization of the color.
Do you allow "you pick" of the flowers?
